 "America 250 Museum Preservation" Goal

Preserving the Sutton-Ditz Museum

~The CCHS America 250 Project~

News Flash!
Just reached

$100,000!
$110,000!
Heartfelt
THANKS!

The museum needs your help!

The 1908 internal gutter system needs replaced.

Some of the 1908 columns, capitals, bases,

balustrades & skirting on the front portico,

the side porch, and the double tier back porches are deteriorating and need replaced,

plus other exterior repairs.

Please help us with this important mission!

Every dollar truly makes a difference!

In 1976, as an American Bicentennial project, the CCHS raised $80,000

in donations to purchase the Ditz House to be used as a

history museum & genealogy library.

That’s equivalent to $457,000 today,

according to the US Consumer Price Index.

Isn’t it fitting that we are restoring the Sutton-Ditz Museum

as our

“America 250 Anniversary” project?

We’ve raised $90,000 and work has commenced!

~ The front porch has been shored up with replacement joists & beams.

~New steps have been installed on the front & side porches.

~The internal gutter system is about to be replaced.

~Capitals, bases & balustrades have been ordered.

Restoration will continue with the most needed repairs first, and

we’ll continue to raise funds for completion.

We’re working on the interior as well!

~Custom period draperies, document period wallpaper,

with installation, have been donated.

~Reproduction period bathroom fixtures have been donated.

Wholehearted Thanks
